A way to engage all employees
BAT recognised that its new vision, global strategy and Guiding Principles would be meaningless without the understanding and buy in of its 57,000 employees around the world.
A modular engagement approach
The solution was The BAT Way, a modular engagement process that leaders/managers could facilitate themselves with their teams to explore the vision, strategy and Guiding Principles.
The tools were accessible for people at all levels of the business and helped them explore what the new direction meant for them as teams and individuals and ensure they took ownership of the change by creating local actions aligned to The BAT Way.
We worked closely with a core team from BAT to create and design interactive team conversation materials and activities, including a strategy learning map and behavioural scenario cards. The tools were supported by a comprehensive managers’ facilitation guide and tips for ensuring consistent and high quality conversations across the business.
Stories of behaviour change
The programme was successful rolled out across the whole organisation, resulting in hugely positive feedback and stories of how people are behaving differently in line with the Guiding Principles.
