Introducing new requirements for crisis and continuity management
BP wanted to strengthen its safety and risk management worldwide by engaging people in its new mandatory requirements for C&CM. We developed a comprehensive suite of materials to support global roll-out to a wide range of different audiences.
Three-stage roll-out by audience
The engagement toolkit we developed ranged from webinars to workshops, face-to-face activities to e-learning modules.
At the heart of the approach was a two-day workshop featuring a variety of accelerated learning activities, including learning maps, scenarios and team presentations. Hypothetical scenarios needed to be technically accurate and believable, but also easy to understand and explore within a limited timeframe. Every participant had a take-away booklet reminding them of the activities and giving them space to capture their own notes in relation to their own sites.
A wide reach, a deep understanding
The approach successfully engaged a wide variety of audiences across BP – from senior leaders to highly-skilled technical practitioners. The tools have been incredibly well received by all and have helped to embed understanding of the new requirements at all levels.
