Implementing an operating management system

Following a number of critical safety incidents, BP introduced a business-wide Operating Management System (OMS). The OMS influences the work of everyone at BP and it was crucial that managers and staff around the world understand the system and what it means for their role. We developed a range of modular face-to-face tools to engage employees at all levels in the OMS.

Flexible engagement tools

The engagement tools were designed for use in a wide variety of situations and, to date, have been deployed in briefing sessions, at conferences and as part of management development at senior leader, middle-management and first line supervisor levels. Our face-to-face engagement solutions were also supported by further tools for individuals to download via a dedicated website.

An ongoing partnership

The solutions we created were integral to successfully embedding OMS across BP. Today OMS is integral to how BP gets things done around the world.
